Care Guide

Care Guide

The Royal Pop is built to last decades — if you treat its Bioceramic case and SISTEM51 movement right.

Daily Wear

  • The Bioceramic case is splash-resistant but not waterproof. Do not swim, shower, or submerge.
  • Avoid temperatures above 80°C (176°F). Do not leave on a car dashboard in direct summer sun — Bioceramic can deform.
  • The case is more scratch-resistant than plastic but less so than steel. Avoid abrasive surfaces.

Winding

The Royal Pop uses Swatch’s hand-wound SISTEM51 caliber. To wind:

  1. Hold the crown between thumb and forefinger
  2. Turn clockwise approximately 25–30 turns from a fully-stopped state
  3. You will feel slight resistance increase as the mainspring engages — stop when the resistance is firm (do not force)
  4. A full wind provides ~90 hours of running time

Wind once every 2–3 days for continuous use. The movement is designed to be wound only — there is no automatic rotor.

Cleaning

  • Wipe the case with a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth
  • Avoid solvents, ammonia, alcohol, or polish
  • For the lanyard: hand-wash with mild soap, air-dry flat
  • For the case-back hinge (Savonnette): apply a tiny drop of watch oil to the hinge pivot annually

Storage

  • Store in the original Swatch box when not worn
  • Keep away from magnetic fields (speakers, MRI machines, tablet stands)
  • If storing long-term (3+ months), let the watch run down completely to relax the mainspring

Service

The SISTEM51 is a sealed, non-serviceable movement. If yours stops working under normal use within 2 years, Swatch will replace the movement under their global warranty at any Swatch boutique. Bring your original serial paperwork.
